The Waiting Window.

06.06.2025

As i grew up to a more mature side of me, i have realised that waiting for something, means that it is important. But waiting for something patiently, is where you feel unconditional love.

It’s 45 minutes past to 8 at night and as the time goes ahead from here, my eyes are always searching to look from the single window out there waiting for him to come home. From the day we have been married and i moved to home, my kitchen window has something special to it.

I wait for him there.

I wait for him as i speak to myself in head -how must his day would be.

I wait for him there at the window with my thoughts of wondering how that smile is gonna be when he sees me through the window.

I wait for him there, cooking his meal there guessing will he like the food i serve him.

I wait for him there, where i try to enact how will i react when he is there are the window, and will i get the chance to have a glance of him through those glasses or will i just be somewhere else busy and also consciously thinking is he there or not yet.

I wait for him there, imagining will he have that relief of seeing me after a long tiring day or will he be busy in his thoughts, stuck somewhere back to what all he did in the day.

I wait for him there to get that sweet little flying kiss, which is full of tenderness.

The wait is just not about him being physically be there with me, but a lot more then just catching his sight.

The wait is because along with him, he carries the love in his eyes.

The wait brings along with him my safe place on earth, where i know nothing can ever erupt me when his armour is around.

The wait is due to that smile he shares which takes away all the baggage from a long day spent.

The wait is just another reason for myself to tell – “ Yes you can be a baby now and leave all the responsibilities aside”.

The wait is worth because someone is there genuinely to listen to banter of the chaos i made in the day.

The wait is equal to all the safe, comfortable and respectful place i will ever be at.

But, the beauty of this wait is that, there is no given time for it.

No given schedule for it.

No given expression of it.

No given expectation of it.

It is just an unconditional longing for the person to come to you no matter in what way, and sense, also which is not forced.

It is as simple as walking everyday to home in the manner he wants and in the manner i see when he comes.
